Lancaster's Community Newsletter

When Katie and I moved to Lancaster in 2021, we did so to plant our roots. Although I (Ben) grew up in Lancaster and Katie’s family has deep ties to the county, it was only a place to visit for the first decade of our marriage. For those first ten years, we moved around following some job opportunities in California and then New Jersey.

They were exciting times, but those places never felt like home. They didn’t have the roadside stands, the rolling backroads lined with cornfields, the homemade baked goods, the unique mix of farm, neighborhood, and city life all within a short drive.

As we drove the moving truck towards our new home, the smell of freshly sprayed manure had a strangely comforting effect- we knew we were home. We live south of Lancaster city with our three kids and a few chickens.

Thank you for checking out the Lancaster Review! We continue to discover fun places to eat and visit in the county, and now we can share those things with you.
