SUMMARY:Volunteer Workday at Clark Nature Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Be a part of the solution and give back to nature!\n\n\nJoin us as we work on invasive plant removal as part of a comprehensive eco-restoration program for Clark Nature Preserve. We will be using hand tools to remove invasive shrubs and weeds. This work directly contributes to restoring native ecology and protecting regional biodiversity. \nWhat to Expect and How to Prepare: We will use hand tools to remove invasive shrubs and weeds. The work involves using loppers and hand saws to cut shrubs at their base. Some of the shrubs have thorns. All tools and work gloves are provided. \nDress for the weather and wear clothes you don’t mind getting muddy or torn. Sturdy pants are recommended due to the presence of thorns. Bring drinking water. There are port-a-johns on site. This event is recommended for ages 12 and up (participants under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult). \nAnimal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home. \nCancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine\, with cancellation a day in advance for severe weather. If the Conservancy reschedules the event\, attendees will be emailed and tickets will be automatically moved to the new date.
