Lancaster Date Night Options: A Tiered List

A definitive, unsolicited, and extremely correct ranking.

Top-Tier (S-Tier, as the kids say): A Night to Remember

Dinner at LUCA, followed by a stroll through the city, and the PDF series at Zoetropolis

Start your night with handmade pasta, candlelight, and the smell of the wood-burning hearth. Then step outside and wander through downtown Lancaster. End the evening with a feature film, a custom cocktail, and a room full of interesting people talking about what they just watched. It’s the most intellectually attractive thing you can do on a weeknight. If your date isn’t into it, that’s useful information.

A-Tier: Reliably Impressive

Drinks at The Exchange

Twelve floors up, panoramic views of downtown Lancaster, wood-fired pizzas, and memorable cocktails. It’s almost unfair how easy this place makes it to have a good night. Go at sunset, and make it look like you planned it even if you didn’t.

B-Tier: Solid Choices, No Complaints

First Friday gallery hop

Free, walkable, and you both get to pretend you have strong opinions about art. Stop into galleries, grab a drink somewhere in between, and end up at a spot you’ve never tried. First Fridays are underrated as a date because the whole city basically becomes the evening’s activity.

C-Tier: Perfectly Fine, Just Not Memorable

Wendy’s and a walk around Park City

Look, sometimes you just want something that doesn’t take a lot of effort. No judgment. But if you’re trying to impress someone, this says “I didn’t Google anything.” Probably fine for date number 12, not ideal for date number 2.

D-Tier: You Should Give Up Now

A “surprise” trip to a smorgasbord

Shoofly pie is a treasure. But nothing says romance like standing in a buffet line behind a family of nine while holding a plate of chow-chow. Save this for when you’re already married and comfortable with who you are.
