DESCRIPTION:Learned the Basics? Let’s Learn How to do a Show!\n\n\nAbout the Class: Welcome to Lancaster Improv Players’ 201 class! This 8-week long course focuses on the more advanced skills of long-form Improv. Students will learn skills which include game of a scene\, second beats\, heightening\, and advanced character work. This class focuses on teaching a ton of scene work skills and will help improvisers think beyond the scene they are in. The class ends with a graduation show where the students can show their friends and family the skills learned. This class does require Improv 101 as a prerequisite or director approval.  \nClass Schedule: This class runs for two and a half (2.5) hours for eight (8) sessions on Thursday from 7pm-9:30pm. Those dates are 4/9\, 4/16\, 4/23\, 4/30\, 5/7\, 5/14\, 5/21\, and 5/28 . The Class Show is on Saturday 5/30 at 5pm!  \nTo qualify for the class show you must: \n\nAdhere to the Lancaster Improv Players’ Code of Conduct.\nAttend at least six of the eight sessions (ideally all eight).\nAttend at least two improv shows during the length of the class. During the class you receive standby tickets for all of our regular shows. These tickets get you into shows for free so long as the show has not soldout!\n\nTickets are on sale until end of day Tuesday 4/7! \nAbout the Teacher: Angie has been honing her craft in improvised comedy since 2015 and has been a proud member of the Lancaster Improv Players (LIP) since 2020. She currently coaches LIP’s house team\, Peach Soda\, and performs with two other house teams. With a strong background in both short-form and long-form improv\, Angie encourages performers to embrace their unique creativity\, quirks\, and individuality on stage. Known for her love of playing eccentric characters—goblins\, ghouls\, witches\, and other delightfully strange beings—Angie brings a refreshing and unpredictable energy to every show. DESCRIPTION:Learn Some of the Most Advanced Skills While Learning a Show Form!\n\n\nAbout the Class: Welcome Students to Lancaster Improv Players’ 301 Class! During this Eight-Week class students learn more advanced skills to use in their improv scenes! This is accomplished while learning how to do “The Harold”\, which is an improv form best suited to teach these skills! This form is completely learnable in that time\, because of the skills learned in Improv 201! As a result: Completing LIP’s Improv 201 is a requirement for taking this class. If you have not completed LIP 201\, but have other Improv education or experience\, please contact our Artistic Director for approval to take the class without the 201 prerequisite. You can contact Austin Rittle\, our Aristic Director\, via email: austin@lancasterimprovplayers.org. \nUpon completing the eight weeks of class\, the students will have a class show\, which is scheduled for Saturday May 30th at 7pm! \nThis class runs for Eight Weeks on Wednesday nights for the following dates: 4/8\, 4/15\, 4/22\, 4/29\, 5/6\, 5/13\, 5/20\, and 5/27  \nEarly sign-up discount of $75 runs until end of day 2/15! \nAbout the Teacher: this class will be taught by Lancaster Improv Player’s own Artistic Director: Austin Rittle. Over the last 12 years\, Austin has performed in more than four hundred improv shows and is a graduate of the Philly Improv Theater’s curriculum. Generally you will find Austin performing at LIP or cooking up a new show idea for the theater. Austin is a founding member of the Lancaster Improv Players and wants to continue to make Lancaster a funnier place through teaching what he loves.
