DESCRIPTION:Join the Water Week Clean Up efforts at Sunnyside Peninsula!\n\n\nJoin Partners for Environmental Stewardship\, Lancaster Conservancy\, and Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay as we clean up Sunnyside Peninsula as part of Water Week 2026! \nJoin us at Lancaster County Central Park Pavillion 1 at 9 a.m. to enjoy community\, snacks\, and coffee as we hear from speakers before heading out to our Conestoga Cleanup sites. The Conestoga has been named the 2026 Pennsylvania River of the Year\, and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate than by stewarding this community treasure as a part of the 10th Anniversary of Water Week! All cleanup groups will launch following the rally. \nSchedule: \n\n9:00 – 9:45 Rally for the River at Lancaster County Central Park Pavilion 1\n9:45 – 10:00 Travel to Conestoga Cleanup sites\n10:00 – 12:00 Clean up the Conestoga!\n\nOur Clean-Up Site: \nWhat to Expect: Our cleanup site will be Sunnyside Peninsula\, the future home of Lancaster City’s first nature preserve and a new environmental center. There are no restrooms available on site. We will provide gloves and trashbags. The site includes uneven terrain. This clean-up site is ideal for children 10+. \nWhere to Meet: After leaving County Park\, please meet in the parking area for the Conestoga Greenway Trail: https://maps.app.goo.gl/EDTVFbpNbEzezyNB6. The address is 407 S. Broad Street\, Lancaster\, PA 17602. \nWhat to Bring: Wear comfortable\, closed-toe shoes or boots. Bring water. \nAnimal Policy: Service animals active or in training are welcome. Please leave all pets at home. \nCancellation Policy: This event will be held rain or shine.
