DESCRIPTION:Join us as we connect with nature through creativity!\n\n\nShenks Ferry Wildflower Preserve is a world-renowned site for spring ephemeral wildflowers. The preserve contains 70 species of wildflower. Explore the ravine and hillsides of this beautiful preserve for spring ephemerals and their pollinator associates. You may choose to work on long-term study in your nature journal of one or two plants or travel from place to place to assemble a multi-page inventory of as many different species as you can find. \nWhat to Expect and How to Prepare: This event will include up to a 1-mile round-trip hike on mostly flat trail with some steady but easy inclines. Dress for the weather and bring drinking water. Participants are asked to supply their own sketchbooks\, field supplies\, and camp chair or sit pads if necessary. No experience required. This is a no judgement zone! This event is recommended for ages 12 and up (participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult). There are port-a-johns available on site. \nWhere to Meet: At the Shenks Ferry Wildflower Preserve trail kiosk\, just past the yellow gate off the parking area. \nRefund Policy: These events usually sell out. If you are unable to attend this event after purchasing a ticket\, please let us know so we can open a spot to someone on the waitlist. DESCRIPTION:Your Journey to the Stage Starts Here!\n\n\nAbout the Class: This is an 8 week long class that will teach the fundamentals of long form Improv Comedy. Topics covered include agreement with a scene partner\, character creation\, listening as a character and an actor\, and exploring the worlds created in scenes. The class ends with a graduation show where the students can show their friends and family the skills learned. Students must be 18 or older for this class! \nThis Class will run Tuesdays from 7pm-9pm on the following dates: 4/7\, 4/14\, 4/21\, 4/28\, 5/5\, 5/12\, 5/19\, and 5/26 . This class has a class show on Saturday 5/30 at 3pm! \nTo qualify for the class show you must: \n\nAdhere to the Lancaster Improv Players’ Code of Conduct.\nAttend at least six of the eight sessions (ideally all eight).\nAttend at least two improv shows during the length of the class. During the class you receive standby tickets for all of our regular shows. These tickets get you into shows for free so long as the show has not soldout!\n\nTickets are on sale until end of day Sunday 4/5! \nAbout the Teacher: I’m Emily\, and I’ve been doing improv at Lancaster Improv Players for four years. I’m an at-large member of the improv board and have performed on multiple house teams at LIP. When I’m not improv-ing\, I have entirely too many hobbies\, including ceramics\, taekwondo\, and gaming. \nScholarships: Some scholarships are available to partially or fully cover the cost of the stated class fee. For additional information\, please reach out to finance@lancasterimprovplayers.org with your request at least a week prior to the start date of the class. \nRefund Policy: We will not refund any orders after the start of the first session. \nParking: There is street parking around the theater on Prince St\, King St\, and Vine St\, which is not metered after 6pm and not metered Sundays! The parking garages are open. Steinman Garage\, Prince St Garage\, and Duke St Garage are recommended in that order! On the weekends the garage is $5 for the whole day!
