From Queen Street to State Street, more than two dozen galleries, studios, shops, and pop-up spaces will open their doors this weekend for the Lancaster City Spring Art Walk.
The art walk runs Saturday, May 16, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 17, from noon to 4 p.m. The weekend will feature free events at Curio, The Demuth Museum, Red Raven Art Company, Freiman Stoltzfus, Olivia’s Fine Art, Lancaster Art Vault, the Ware Center, Lancaster Arts Hotel, and more.
Several stops are hosting live demos. Olivia Stoltzfus will weave on Saturday and work in egg tempera on Sunday. Red Raven has four artists painting live from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Saturday. At Lancaster Art Vault, the Saturday lineup includes:
- Illuminated Trees painting demo with Melissa Zane, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Paper marbling with resident artist Robin Ashby, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Artist talk with Elizabeth A. Pituch on her show In States of Becoming, 1 to 2 p.m.
- Oil painting demo with Christiane David, 2 to 4 p.m.
- Artisan market under the eaves, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
One of the artists you’ll meet at the Vault’s market is Adessa Bradley, a Lancaster native and current Tyler School of Art and Architecture student home for the summer. When we talked earlier this week, Adessa said:
“I am a college student who attends Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, and I knew coming home over summer break, I was interested in getting more involved in the Lancaster art scene. I was so pleased to see that the Lancaster Art Vault offers artists at any stage many opportunities and a platform to share their art. I found this to be the perfect step towards sharing my artwork. This Saturday, during the Lancaster City Spring Art Walk, I will be selling my hand-carved prints on handmade paper, portraits, ink drawings, and more!”
You can see Adessa’s work and others at the Art Vault, 100 North Queen Street.
